Fraser 406 / 407, 409 / 411 Static Dischargers / Anti-Static Brushes for Industrial Applications

Product Overview

The 406 / 407 and 409 / 411 Static Dischargers are flexible anti-static tape brushes designed to safely dissipate static electricity from machinery and materials in a wide range of industrial applications. Ideal for paper handling, plastics processing, labeling, coding, marking, and packaging equipment, these static dischargers provide an economical and highly effective solution for controlling troublesome static charges.

Manufactured with thousands of ultra-fine stainless steel filaments, the tape brushes concentrate the electric field around the material being treated, ionizing the surrounding air and allowing static charges to safely flow to earth. Their conductive adhesive backing enables quick installation directly onto conductive, grounded machine components without the need for additional brackets or fasteners.

Designed for flexibility and ease of use, the tape brushes can be cut to length and formed around curves or irregular surfaces, making them particularly well suited for OEM equipment and applications where installation space is limited.

Applications

The 406 / 407 and 409 / 411 Static Dischargers are commonly used in:

  • Labeling machines
  • Coding and marking equipment
  • Printing and converting machinery
  • Paper handling systems
  • Plastic film processing
  • Packaging equipment
  • Cash dispensers and automated handling systems
  • Small OEM machinery
  • Web and sheet-fed production equipment

How It Works

The tape brushes contain highly conductive stainless steel filaments measuring just 12 microns in diameter. The extremely fine filament tips create a concentrated electric field that ionizes the surrounding air, providing a path for static electricity to safely discharge to earth.

The conductive adhesive backing allows the static discharger to be mounted directly onto grounded machine surfaces. Where a machine ground is not available, a separate earth wire can be connected to the tape body to ensure effective operation.

Available Models

406 / 407 Static Discharger

  • Tape Body Width: 6 mm
  • Filament Length: 7 mm

409 / 411 Static Discharger

  • Tape Body Width: 9 mm
  • Filament Length: 11 mm

Both models are available by the meter, cut-to-length, or in convenient 25-meter reels.

Installation

The flexible tape brush design allows the discharger to be mounted in straight lines, around curves, or in custom shapes to suit the application. Installation requires no mechanical fixings when attached to a conductive, grounded machine surface.

For optimal performance, the 406 / 407 and 409 / 411 Static Dischargers must be properly connected to earth.
